Oh, mono, I wish I knew how to quit you.
It’s pretty amazing how much energy it takes to put on ab actual, for real outfit. It’s not that it takes much longer than throwing on a sweatsuit. It’s just… it’s the comfort thing. It’s the mental energy. It’s psyching yourself up for the raised expectations. And it’s getting out of a rut, a routine. That takes a lot of energy.
Hey, man– at least I spiced it up a little. Got some bright colors, some cute accessories. Even with my energy-draining illness, I can see that this past nine months has had some effect.
I’ve spent the last couple of days forcing myself to get at least 10 hours of sleep a night, and I’ve been feeling a mite better. I’ll post my last few rut-busting outfits tomorrow– see if they take. See if they give me a little momentum as we go into the home stretch– just *ahem* a little behind.
But hey, given the circumstances? This outfit wasn’t half-bad. Well, not half bad.
I think I deserve a pat on the back. Now, if I could just lift my arm…

Hey, ya look great esp for a girl with a fatiguing, spleen swelling viral infection. I esp love the shoes!
Sorry its been rough.
hey if you’re that ill i’m impressed you got dressed at all, nevermind finding the energy to blog!
Thanks, y’all. I’m sure I’m almost as sick of complaining about being sick as everyone else is of hearing it.
It’s just frustrating, especially in the context of this blog. Dark circles, a little weight gain* (apparently I’m the only one who gains weight with mono), pasty skin, breakouts… It’s a great time to be in the public eye! LOL… But I’m getting a little better (almost) every day.
*Which isn’t a big deal in and of itself, but it starts to limit my wardrobe!
Girl, your fans love you for being real (and fortunately the real you is super funny)! Struggles and all, we’re still cheering you on because you still have way more guts than the majority of us do, putting yourself out there. It is clear that this challenge has really made a difference in you, and been an inspiration to us all. Kudos again for not quitting!!
Hope you get better soon. Put me in the ‘impressed you’re not wearing your pajamas and eating icecream in bed’ pile, which is what I would be wearing and doing.
Especially if your spleen is swollen (urgh!) you’re probably retaining a lot of water. I do that when ill. Something about your body panicking and thinking that it needs to conserve as much fluid as possible.
