Still sick, but now in stripes.

- Turquoise puff-sleeve cardigan (last seen here) from ATL– $15 on sale, with coupon
- Teal cotton and leather cuff from a Toronto shop, circa 2002

- “Agnis” platform pumps from Le Due via Loehmann’s– $25 on clearance
I was clearing out my inbox, and apparently I have a $10 credit from Sock Dreams circa January 2008.
Awesome.
I haven’t purchased much from them– just a few over-the-knee/thigh high pair. They’re great for wearing with dresses slightly longer than this one, for a tights look without the that midsection line that tights tend to cause (especially under clingier knits). I have these Vertically Inclined socks and these Hot Sox thigh highs, (note the lack of midsection tight-line).
The Hot Sox are apparently currently out of stock, but can be found elsewhere. The N-40s were the ones I returned– as I recall, they barely came up over my knee, but at that time, I was also a little bigger.
But check them out– they’re adorable. I especially love their selection of “Sock It to Me” socks, in patterns like carrots and birds on a wire.

I figure I might as well spend my credit, even considering the (reasonable) $5 shipping charge.
Right now I’m leaning towards some combination of the fishnet hose ($6), O basics ($6), crochet thigh highs ($8), and, even less practically, arm warmers ($9) or motorcycle gloves ($10).
But considering I might be able to find some of these items for less elsewhere, maybe I should just go all out and get the over-the-rainbow thigh highs.
What do you think?

The O basics are great everyday socks and a very good value at the price.
I love them for bicycle commuting because I have to roll up my pants and they keep my legs warm–although I tend to get the ridiculous colors and then forget to roll my pants back down once I get to work and then at break I realize that I have been walking around for two hours looking like Klunky the Clown with my Carharrts rolled up and my purple knee socks on.
Probably I am the only person in the universe with this issue.
Also the EG Smith anythings are awesome. I love their basic OTKs.
I love the dueling stripes!
Thanks for the info, slowe– it’s really helpful. And thanks, Kasmira! This challenge is definitely getting me to try new and funky things.
