I like the idea of lavender with black– it was the color combination of the bathroom in Sally J. Freedman’s New York home, a fact which for some reason has taken up residence in my head, occupying the space where Newton’s Third Law or the location of my W-2s should be. This pairing was, if I recall correctly, disparaged by some as fit for a “bordello,” a word I then either looked up or asked my dad about, certainly to his chagrin.

That pencil skirt is definently on my to buy list.
I kind of fell in love with it at this pricey boutique (I’ve noticed a lot of trendy places carry BB Dakota). I was almost willing to pay the $58 they were asking, and then I turned around and found the exact same skirt at Filene’s for $20 (and I had a 20% off coupon). It was meant to be.
