Sometimes, your outfit is limited by forces beyond your control. Whether your commute forces you to forgo stilettos or your job has some horrible, archaic dress code involving pantyhose, sometimes you just can’t wear what you want to. So you work around it.
Yesterday I had to wear this top to work– as I will, once a week, for the next few weeks. I’ll just have to work around it. Luckily, it’s pretty versatile– we’ll see what I come up with. In the meantime, I chose a more exciting location to make up for the relatively unexciting outfit. Good times!

Have a great weekend, folks! Try not to fall into a public fountain.
Unless you’re into that kind of thing.

can i ask why you have so many accessories from LB? you don’t LOOK like a plus size…
i imagine it’s for the same reason i own a lot of jewelry from f21 even tho i can’t fit the clothes there… the accessories are still fun even if the clothes don’t work.
I used to be an “inbetweenie,” (Size 12-16)– though I guess I never did end up buying any actual clothes at Lane Bryant. (Loved their Right Fit Blue jeans, though they were always just a little too big– I heard Fashion Bug has them in straight sizes?) But this necklace, I just couldn’t pass up! When I tended bar, I got compliments on it all the time. A couple of my customers called me “Pebbles.”
Accessories are (often) the great equalizer when ladies of different sizes go shopping together– just like most folks can wear the accessories at H&M or Forever 21, most folks can wear the accessories at LB and Torrid. Something for non-plus folks to keep in mind, too.
hot stuff!
also, I need to step up my accessory game.
I feel you, likeawoman. For the longest time, I had almost no accessories. It was like, one belt, three necklaces, 7 or 8 pair of shoes (including sandals and snow boots). Even now, I don’t have as many accessories as I “should” (though I’ve definitely caught up on shoes).
I associate it with having to pay for all my own clothes since I was 13… When you’re that age, you just don’t think, “Oh, I’ll buy one chic black dress and a bunch of accessories.” You think, “How can I buy enough trendy tops and jeans to make it look like I own at least 10 distinct outfits?”
A good day indeed to wear purple heels…
Are those platforms? I really like them.
I can’t wear heals unless I have been waxed and pedicured. It just doesn’t look right with hair on top of your feet. heh
I also try to stay away from open toe shoes and sandals but looking at those, I was honestly thinking of breaking that rule…
Yes, indeed– platforms. And they don’t show too much toe– they’re kinda cool like that.
