Well, I almost made it a whole month without spending any of my Pretty Year cash, but on January 31st, I broke down. Banana Republic sale + take an extra 30% off + store credit burning a hole in my pocket + $20.71 = one beautiful dress and three tops!!!
To wit:
- Beautiful full-length jade green full-length stretch silk dress– Originally $175, marked down to $36.99, final price after 30% discount– $25.89!
Obviously this needs a different bra and heels, but score, right?! I know it’s not the most practical choice in a year with a $250 budget, but in my defense, I don’t own a single full-length dress, so it has that going for it.
- A silk-blend indigo flutter-sleeve top– Originally $54, marked down to $13.99, final price after 30% discount– $9.79!
It’s a bit sheer for a flashbulb, but I think it’ll work out. What you can’t see in this photo is that the underarm is covered, so that the flutter sleeve doesn’t end up giving me any sideboob action. I’ve never owned anything with this kind of sleeve, but I think it works to balance out my bottom half.
- Black 100% silk cap sleeve top (I already had this in jade green)– Originally $59, marked down to $16.99, final price after 30% discount– $11.89!
I used to have more black tops than I knew what to do with– mostly because I thought I could hide behind them. But I realized recently that I don’t have many that fit, and they’re kinda useful. This one is cute and so, so silky.
- Jade green lace camisole for layering– Originally $34, marked down to $9.99, final price after 30% discount– $6.99!
Total, including tax– $57.70. After $36.99 store credit– $20.71.
Pretty Year Budget– $250 – $20.71 = $229.29 left to spend in 2009. So far, so good!
